Notes: The exact date of Florence Keene Freeman's death is a mystery. She shows up in the 1900 census but then in the 1910 census, A.L. and his second wife Martha Greeson report they have been married for 14 years. Additionally, Florence's headstone says she died in 1896, agreeing with the years married for A.L. and Martha in 1910. It is possible the headstone was placed later and for whatever reason it was believed by the informant that Florence died in 1896. Additionally, there is supposedly an unnamed infant of A.L.'s that died in Feb. 1900. When A.L. and Florence were enumerated in June of that year, it was reported Florence had given birth to 7 children, 7 of who were still living. In 1910 it was reported that Martha had given birth to 4 children, 2 of whom were still living. The oldest surviving child, O'Leavie, was 8 at the time. Based on her Feb, 1902 birthday and assuming she was not premature, this would indicate A.L. and Martha were married by about May, 1901. This is less than a year after Florence was enumerated in the 1900 census. This however is not necessarily indicative of anything since A.L. had 7 children to raise.
